Baskets are predominately of brown print fabrics*, off-white background. Quilting is parralel diagonal lines through the set; in the basket there are three styles: 1) grid, 2) parallel lines and 3) three-lobed plant motif under basket handle. Half of baskets go to one side and half go to the other. Along the border, there are only half-baskets.
Per Knoxville quilt historian Merikay Waldvogel:
* Blocks may have been around for awhile because fabric is older. Some fabric in baskets is from 1860s; predominate fabric in set is 1880s or 1890s.Collection
