White crocheted bedspread with "popcorn" detailing. Made in blocks that were sewn together. Blocks bordered on sides by three rows of popcorn. From the interior to the exterior the blocks contain 13,14,15 popcorn. Four small diamonds each containing 36 popcorn come together to form one large diamond in center of block. Diamonds are separated by diagonal lines formed by large stitches. Blocks are 12.5in x 12.5in. The spread is 8 blocks long by 5 blocks wide, except for bottom row which is only three blocks wide. Two end blocks are missing from the right and left side, possibly so the spread would fit better around the legs of a bed. 1930s-1940s.Dimensions
