Description

Quilt made by Florence Day McKamey, "Dresden Plate" (aka. China Plate) pattern. Segments are made from dress cotton fabrics, multicolor with yellow centers. Plates are set against a white background. Border made by alternating blue and yellow segments, with white pieces of fabric in between. Edges are scalloped. Backing is white; binding is back to front. Quilting follows the outline of each segments, and is diamond patterned on background. 1930s-1940s. Comments from Merikay Waldvogel, 3/16/2004-- This quilt probably was a fine, special quilt. Neat border. Soiled.
