2004.4.1Description
Quilt block depicting Knoxville's Weisgarber Mill (on Weisgarber Road), a two-story structure with door and window on ground level and two windows above. Tan-and-brown striped fabric (positioned with stripes on the horizontal) makes the body of the mill and the roof of both mill and 3-D porch is from a course brown material. Three burlap bags and one white bag sit below porch roof. Most of the background is green; water, which flows through a hard-paper trough from the right of the mill roof and down the mill's left side into a creek, is depicted with white thread. "4th creek" is stitched in yellow at a slant on left side and "Weisgarber Road." is stitched in black at bottom center. Stitching is crude and some shows through on the solid light gray backing. Unsigned. Early 1990s (1993 or before).Collection
