Description

Uniform overcoat of Charles B. Britton, Model 1918 [because button-down cuff tabs eliminated], Army issue heavy olive drab wool, double breasted, lapped back belt with two buttons, diagonal shoulder seam, lined sleeves, partial lining in waist/fronts and back with inside breast pocket, left side in brownish and black with inside pocket, left side in brownish cotton twill, pocket on each side accessible from outside and inside by button, some raw edges/hem/sleeve seam/side-and-back seams/belt and inside pockets, faint stamped U.S. black letters on lining at upper center back, two names handwritten in script on proper left side lining-"Paul W. E." [previous owner], "C.B. Britton /131/ 1306131[0T marked out]4 [Britton's service number], unknown manufacturer, 44"h x 21"w, WWI/1918.
