Corn planter. Made from two long pieces of wood. At top of wood are two spool like handles. At bottom of wood are fixed two jointed metal scoops. One side is a small metal box with a wooden bottom and top. This box would have been used to hold seed. When handles of wood are together a small tongue of metal is inserted into the box, collecting a seed. When the handles are pulled apart the tongue pulls the seed out of the box and drops it into a metal chute to be planted. Box side of planter marked "H.B.S." Opposite side of box is also marked but is difficult to read: "--TBH-MPH?" "MANUFD (/) BY/ A.C. KENT/ JANESVILLE/WIS."Collection
