Hame--two curved supports which are attached to the collar of a draft animal and to which the traces are fastened
Hame or harness. Made from two curved pieces of wood. The outer edge of each piece of wood has been lined with a piece of metal. A small metal loop is attached at the top of each side. One third of the way down from the top is a long strip of metal on each side. Strips have a large metal loop at the top and seven pairs of holes. Two thirds of the way down on the proper left side of the hame an additional metal loop was added. THree square openings were cut on the wood between the wood and the metal plate on both sides of the hame. A twisted leather belt is threaded through the bottom hole of each side and is holding them together.Collection
