Quilt block illustrating "THE CORNER" of Kingston Pike and Weisgarber, unsigned. "P.A. Anderson Grocery" stitched in black thread. The grocery itself is made of tan and brown striped fabric. 3D roofed porch made from tan canvas and brown cording. Windows are clear plastic with "FLOUR" and other goods visible. Yellow bucket sits on porch. Brown horse with tan saddle is tied up out front on left side. Gold sun has been made from paper and is glued in upper left corner. Flag pole with paper American flag stands to right of grocery. Striped brown, blue, cream and green flannel make up roads which have been labeled "KINGSTON PK" and "Weisgarber" in white thread. Grass is green with red and white flowers stitched on right side. Sky made of light blue fabric. Edging done in blue and white fabric. Backing is white fabric with exposed stitching. 10.235"l x 13 1/4"w, early 1990s (1993 or before).Collection
