a) Officer's dress sword of Robert LaForge, Model 1902, slightly curved stainless steel blade etched "E PLURIBUS UNUM" atop spread-wing eagle seal of U.S. on one side/etched "U.S." on opposite side, right base of tang marked "THE / M.C. LILLEY / & CO. / COLUMBUS, O," 5" x 3" black plastic hilt molded for fingers, four-branch steel guard, manufactured by M.C. Lilley Co. (Columbus, Ohio), 36" x 1"w blade/5"w hilt x 1/2"d, c. 1917. b) Scabbard, nickel-plated steel, two rings for attaching to belt. c) Original fabric bag, dark brown with cotton cord.
