Two-piece dress, light-weight cream wool, c. 1909. a) Bodice, surplice front with hook-and-eye closure, draped with folds on right side/center front/back come to point, heavy 4" deep cotton lace gathered around neck and across front and ends of puffed sleeves, upper parts of sleeves stiffened with buckram 10" down, lined in brown cotton, princess seamed with nine bones sewn around midriff, bottom edge trimmed with same gathered lace 11" deep, accented with folded satin peach ribbon ending at side with knot and four streamers 2 5/8"w from 21" to 37", handmade/probably by Anna Kinsland, 31"h [52"h with ribbon] x 12"w. b) Three gored skirt, flared with back opening held with metal hook and eyes, back opening with three inverted pleats for fullness secured at waistband, lined with brown cotton, stiffened at hem with 6 1/2" deep buckram and 1 1/4" heavy velvet self fabric 6" deep attached to lining, heavy lace attached to skirt 11 1/2" deep, handmade/probably by Anna Kinsland, 42"h x 47"w at hem (22" waist).
