Description

a) Circular plane type 1 No. 113, ornate front knob marked "Stanley Rule & Level Co." and "Patented Sept. 25, 1877" in circular border, ornate screw cap on screw-down lever, solid metal adjustment wheel with japanned finish, two small steel hinges on front and back, manufactured by Stanley Rule & Level Co. (New Britain, Conn.), 10"w x 2 1/4"d, 1989-1885/probably 1880s.* Broken and missing read handle or tote. b) Blade stamped "Stanley Rule & Level Co. / New Britain, Conn. / Pat'd APR 18, 1876 / REIS'D / MAR 20, 1877," special two-piece screw joins with cap iron that fits into cuttter adjustment with apertures.
