Description

.12.1a-c) Windsor-style desk chair (known by tradition as the "post office chair") from Fain family, 33"h x 31"w x 17"d, c. 1840. 1a) wood desk chair right side has attached desk 18 1/2" x 27 1/2. 1b) drawer with lock loacked under desk top 8" w x 16" d. 1c) another loacked drawer under seat of chair 10"w x 16" d. Spindle back and sides, plain tappered arms, spindles and leg stretchers. Front, all turned tapered with drawn line where stretchers are inserted. Shaped seat with curve, carved design about 1/2" out from spindles. On desk side, metal bar next to front of desk support fastened with nut under seat. .12.2) small skeleton key for drawers
