Description

Reproduction French and Indian War-era waistcoat/weskit used by reenactor Sam Reed, rounded neck, sleeveless, front panels 100% scarlet dyed wool*, shorter back panels and lining 100% brown linen, front edges and pockets trimmed with 1/2"w silver braid, 16-button front opening, flared skirt at front, 12" side opening on skirt, inset pockets with shaped flaps with three pewter buttons each, 10" center opening at back, size 44, made by Sam Reed (during the winter of 2006-2007), 36"h x 27"w, 17"w at shoulder, 2007. Made using the JP Ryan pattern. * purchased from vendor attending one of the Fort Loudoun Trade Fairs; believed by maker to be commercially dyed.
