Bedspread loomed, overshot coverlet, by Josephine "Josie" McCarter Watson (1901-1971) in the Whig Rose* pattern with stripe border, double bed size, hand-sewn seam joining two panels, believed to be cotton warp and wool weft, yellow/gold wool weft and white cotton warp. Two panels stitched down the center with pattern matched. "Whig Rose" was a common pattern use dby weavers who sold through "Arrow Craft Shops" run by Pi Phi, date unknown.
