Color photo postcard of ancient bristlecone pine trees in the White Mountains with U.S. Forest Service entrance sign.
On reverse: Ancient Bristlecone Pines Inyo National Forest. These Latin named "Pinus Aristata" have managed to live in spite of the most adverse conditions--extreme cold--mostly barren 10,000 ft. elevation--minimum precipitation--extreme high winds. Some of these trees are known to be over 4,600 years old--astounding science with their ability to preserve the most coveted prize since time began--"Life Itself." Color photo by Louis and Virginia Kay.
