Color photo postcard of ancient bristlecone pine trees in the White Mountains.
On reverse: Ancient Bristlecone Pine Trees were growing in the White Mountains of California, before Moses received the Ten Commandments and are still alive and growing--after 4,600 years--of severe temperature and terrain. The elements have distorted these trees into a living driftwood effect. During prolonged dry spells the tree has the ability to live within itself. Sometimes adding less than an inch of growth in 100 years. Color photo by Louis and Virginia Kay.
