Color photo postcard of a log cabin in a forest.
On reverse: Old Mexican mine in the Bristlecone Forest. One of the log houses that remain as a grim reminder of the past. This structure is believed to have been built by slave labor when the Spanish conquistadors were conducting their "blood spattered search" for the seven cities of Cibola. The logs used in this building are of bristlecone pine and still seem to be in a perfect stat of preservation after approximately 200 years. Color photo by Louis and Virginia Kay.
