Description

Color photo postcard of the gravesite of Charles Ferge, prospector, 1889-1968, better known as Seldom Seen Slim. His grave marker includes his names as well as the quote: "Me, lonely? Hell, no! I'm half coyote and half wild burro!" On the reverse: Grave of Seldom Seen Slim, the last of the old-time prospectors of Death Valley and the Panamints. He died in August 1968 and was bured at Boot Hill in the desert ghost town of Ballarat, which is in Panamint Valley between Trona, Calif., and Death Valley.
