Written in blue pen on reverse: Roy Steadman's Upper Glacier Lodge as it stood just above 4th Lake. Roy told me that he had one more yearand he would have to tear itall down!? Picture (LtoR): Housekeeping cabins, main lodge, cooling house "cooled by glacier water, toe sacks, and screens," bath house. Summer 1962.
Information from donor: The Upper Lodge used to belong to Roy Steadman and it sat on a bluff overlooking the 4th Lake in the backcountry of Big Pine. The Forest Service forced Roy to tear down the Upper Lodge and return everything to natural habitat in 1962 or 1963.Collection
