Description

B&W. Mule team hauling borax wagons. Two men, and at least three wagons are visible. Front is labeled in blue ink, "This may be Jim Gill's Dad--1937" and a sticky label is affixed to the front as well, "Old Borax Team used in Death Valley in 1849 wagon now at museum. Last time used at Death Valley and Mt. Whitney celebration Oct. 1937." Photo was probably taken during the Wedding of the Waters Celebration. Reverse: Handwritten in black ink: Old Borax team that was used in Death Valley years ago. Last time to be seen in desert was during Death Valley-Mt. Whitney celebration last Oct. 1937. Borax wagons now in a museum. Handwritten in blue ink: I think Jim Gill's Dad drove this 20 Mule Team on this day. Original photo returned to owner, no hard copy in photo room, digital only
