Description

Color photo of the Keeler station building. Written in pencil on reverse: 51. Built 1884--year Tommer was born. North end, freight here. Next baggage room, ticket, and agent's office and waiting room. Talc works in distance to south. N.G. [narrow gauge] tracks on both sides. At one time tracks extended 3 miles south to Natural Soda Products Co. operated by Watterson Brothers in 1920s. 30 and 40 loaded soda ash cars daily of soda and talc. Silver and lead ore from mines. Darwin sent copper, zinc, lead.
