Photo taken looking down a street in Darwin.
A photocopied paper written by Elizabeth Mecham says: This looks down the street--Charlie Bradford's house on right--later Jack Steward added to and lived there until his death late '40s. Then tents where Kellog built in the '40s and Etcharrens house where Nando Romero improved in '40s and on by Loughrey's--Etcharren's hotel--old store and Long's (Etcharren's place). This in 1916 before fires. On left tents where later the present Green house was remodeled from tents and in '40s further improved by Ener Peterson [Petersen?]--Alex Rouna's house--old locust tree 1876 by horse trough--the Union Hall built 1914 now Crossin's--the old Jack Gunn Saloon--1876--2 little houses--Black Metal Sloon--old original barns and corrals. Films are old and not too clear, but you can "see" how the town looked when I was a kid and went to school in the old school house. When the Jack Gunn Saloon burned 1917 fire--stored in it was a beautiful old $5,000.00 pool table--mahogany and slate, brought from Panamint City.
