Photo titled, "Mt. Kearsarge, Independence, Cal." Photographed by Forbes and given his ID #292. It shows the town of Independence as taken from the eastside of town looking west towards the Sierra Nevada mountain range.
Visible in the photo are the Pavillion (white building with cupola on far left), the Anton house (white house in center), the Naylor house (white house to left of Anton house), red barn (left of Naylor house), the third Inyo County Courthouse (on right with cupola and flag), school house (on far right). According to the donors, the Mairs lived in back on west of the red barn.Collection
