Secretary desk made in the Furniture Shop at Manzanar War Relocation Center by Munroe Ikemura. The word "church" is written in black ink on top of desk. Many ink stains on interior of drop-down front. One drawer in center.
Description from 1999 inventory: Desk. 40.75" x 27.25". Poor condition. Stained wood. Desk top has "church" written on it in black marker. Top is 10.75" x 28". There is a door on front that is on a slant 11" x 28". It is on two hinges and drops down to make a flat surface for writing. Inside desk are two shelves. One on each side 6.5" x 8.5". The inside of desk is ink stained and near the left hinge is the #9 in black marker. The lower front has a board that extends to act as brace and boards are 9.5" x 4" x 0.75". In the center between the boards is a drawer 15.75" x 16" x 3.75" with a wooden handle 2" x 1". The drawer has a red ink stain in it. The four legs are 24.25" x 1.5".
