Panorama photo of the third Inyo County Courthouse in Independence with a group of men on horseback (pack train?) in front of it. There are trees and a white picket fence around the court house. There are also some men standing by the fence in the background. The shadow of the photographer is visible at the bottom of the photo. There are a few other structures in the background, but what is striking is the amount of open space and undeveloped space around the court house. A building to the far left has an advertisement for "Phillips--Painter" on it.
