Photo of a cabin with two men and a dog in front of it. To the right is a stone structure. Caption on album page: Mt. Spring Canyon and our place at head of Shephard's Canyon is now in the bombing range of N.O.T.S. Navy Ordnance Test Station at Inyokern, all our old home country is closed. Juan Andrada's old home. Mt. Spring Canyon 1908. "Old" George Stiles and Everett Yokum [sp?] our teamster. Written on reverse in blue ink: George Stiles' place, Mt. Spring Canyon, 1908. Everett Yokome [sp?] teamster. This was originally Juan Andrada home and his main mine was the Silver Bonaza [Bonanza] at the mouth of the canyon. He had an arastra [arrastra] here and use to take the gold flakes after his "run" and made them into round gold balls, pea size on up, called chiquaqas [sp?]. He gave me a marble sized one when I was little, someone stole it later. I've camped here many times when a kid and later Milo and I did whenever making the trip to Brown and the resturn trip we made to here loaded with grub and etc.
