Description

Photo of two people with horses posting next to a water trough in front of the Millspaugh post office. Caption on album page: My "Jerry" and Lou Smith. Our "Yaqui" and Almon N. Millspaugh in front of sotre and post office, 1903. "Jerry" was a perfect Spanish broke horse, a rare thing now--was entered in all of the Las Flores Fiesta parades--raised--broken and trained by his owner Andrew Gockine and he was 7 years old when he sold him to us--because of finicial [financial] troubles--he loved me as I did him and would do anything for me. Hated Lou Smith, who abused him and one day he could take no more and bucked Lou off, in the corral on to the large rock--hurt his back, no one was sorry and "Jerry" was mine! "Jerry" was short for "Geronimo."
