1997.14.1--Exterior view of the front of the service station. It was taken sometime in 1936 as indicated by the map advertisement on the sign to the left of the gas pump.

The donor's family living in Independence in the 1930s included Boyd Smith, Glen Smith, Daphne Smith, and Monte Smith. Boyd Smith is the donor's father, and he leased the garage. Daphne had a small beauty shop across the street about a block or so to the north.Photograph Details
