Description

Label that says, "Nan Zischank was not a well known name among the internees as she was mostly on the road driving the evacuees in and out of camp. Her residency during the internment period of her fellow citizens was in the Caucasian quarters of Manzanar. Near the rear of her apartment stood a stone wall which is still standing today. As the months wore on, more residents of camp became familiar with her face and especially the badge she wore, as the internees gradually started to relocate. This is the pictures of the original badge that she wore which as been promised to the Manzanar Project to be loaned to the Museum for display. She was a true friend to the unfortunate victims of the evacuation period."
