Mounted photo of a large group of men (and two dogs) in front of the Lone Pine Post Office. Some of the men have been identified on the reverse: Freda Burkhardt (white shirt), Berrogin (mustache), Lee Fitzgerald's father (right of post), and Fred Burkhardt (old man right under Post Office). When this photo was donated in 1959, Miller's Chevrolet was in the location of this photo. An old multiplex label: Early post office in Lone Pine. Located on north Main Street, east side and Locust. Site of the new Richfield station. Was an old hotel the "Orleans" then the "Whitney House" and later the "Mt. Whitney Hotel" and "Anton's Hotel" when it burned.
