Mounted studio portrait of three women. They are identifed on the reverse as Ann Elizabeth Strang Dearborn, born June 30, 1842 [1843?] at Frank Fort on the Rhine RIver in Germany, and her daughters Eva Dearborn, born May 9, 1883 in Aurora, NV, and Della Dearborn, born February 12, 1890 in Lone Pine, CA. Della is holding a doll in the photo. This photo was taken in 1898. The mount has scalloped edges, and the photo has faded.
Ann came to America with her sister when she was 16 years old and they made their home in Michigan. Ann met her husband, Luther Henry Dearborn, in Chicago, came west, and married him in San Francisco. They moved to Bridgeport and then to Bodie. Luther Henry Dearborn was one of the discoverers of the Standard Mine in Bodie. From Bodie the family moved to Aurora, NV. In 1889 they took up residence in Lone Pine.Collection
