Description

Mounted photo of the Gunn Home in Independence. There is a woman standing in front. There is a yard with a water hose in the middle, at least four or five shrubby trees, a walkway to the door lined with rocks, and a structure behind the house that may be another residence. Someone has taken blue and green to the photo and tried to color in the woman's dress and the lawn. There is extensive writing in pencil on reverse: "To city 50. To capital 75. To Reno 125. To H [illegible, Hawthorne?] 100. To Benton 100. To Ind [illegible] 150." The sum of all these figures is "600 [miles?] to Independence" and "trip will take four days easy, can be made in three days." Also "faire [fare] $11.95 for me" and "$21.95 for Mama."
