Description

Photo postcard titled, "Quail Shoot, Independence, Cal." It shows a man holding a gun standing on the landing porch of a wooden building. There are two strings of quail hanging on the side of the building and a black dog laying near them. This structure appears to be the building known as the General Store in Little Pine Village. This building may have once been located behind the current (as of 2022) Still Life Café. The two story building in the background was likely the Independence Hotel.
