Description

Photograph of a stage coach alongside a train. There are many people sitting on top of the train, as well as at least four people on the stagecoach. Additional information: Ollie Dearborn, a former driver of the Mt. Whitney to Death Valley stage, transported the gourd in a stage coach to the Slim Princess narrow gauge locomotive No. 14, which was waiting at the Southern Pacific railroad crossing north of Keeler. When the train reached the Keeler railroad station, the gourd was transferred to the talc mill, and the second day of the journey came to an end. This photo is of the Wedding of the Waters ceremony in 1937, but was printed on July 5, 1975 by Curtis Phillips of Bishop.
