Description

Large mounted photo (14.75" x 11") of the costumed cast of the play "The Princess of Poppyland" put on by the students at Lone Pine school on February 3, 1921. On lower right front corner "Ramsey" written in pencil. Top left hand corner of mounting is damaged. Names on reverse include Louis Skinner (part of the Max Skinner family), Mrs. Watterson (school staff), Cecelia Carrasco (later married Tom Pratt of Lone Pine), Elisa Carrasco (daughter of Cris and Elisa Carrasco and donor's mother), Ted Carrasco (brother of Cris, son of Roberto Carrasco, later taught wood making and shop to juveniles at a state facility east of LA), Zelia Meysan (member of one of the earliest families in Lone Pine, married later), Bill Skinner, Bennie Bonham (son of Bill and Bernice Bonham--Bill was one of the Bonham brothers of LP while Bernice was the daughter of John Lubkin, who had a large ranch just off the Tuttle Creek Road south of LP and was a member of the Board of Supervisors of Inyo County for many years), and Gus Marsh (son of Elizabeth Marsh of England--Gus worked for PPG plant in Cartego, his wife Zoe was secretary at LP Elementary School for many years--during the summer months Gus had an ice cream shop at his home and he would make ice cream late Friday and open the shop Saturday and Sunday). Photo formerly bleonged to Cris J. Carrasco and Freda Carrasco, a cousin of the donor.
