Mounted bust-length photo of a woman. Mounting has scalloped edges and is gilded. "Dowe Photo" in gold script on bottom. A label affixed to the back of the photo says "Sister Augusta Kispert."
Information from the seller on ebay says: This is a great cabinet photo of Mrs. August (Engel) Kispert. She was born in Bayern, Germany in December of 1853 and was a daughter of Wilhelm August and Caroline (Muller) Engel. The family immigrated to the United States and settled in Goodhue and Rice County, Minnesota. August married John Kispert (1837-1900) in the 1860s and by 1870 were living in Lone Pine, Inyo County, California. They were the parents of at least six children and raised their family in George's Creek (near Bishop) in Inyo County. Augusta died in Inyo County on December 6, 1932. The photo dates to about 1890 and the image is very clear.
