Photo postcard of the town of Independence looking west towards the Sierra Nevada mountain range, which is mostly obscured by low clouds. The top of the Courthouse is visible on the right side, and the school may be visible towards the center-left. There is a defect in the lower left corner where the photo hasn't printed/developed.
It was written from Minnie [Brooks] to John Singlaub in Harmony, Butler Co., Pennsylvania and mailed on July 16, 1908. It has a green one cent Benjamin Franklin stamp. She wrote, "Hello John! Are you having a fine time. This is our town taken from among the sagebrush. Minnie."Photograph Details
