Description

B&W glossy print: Ghost town Backside text reads: 523428 L - Towns & Cities, Abandoned NEVADA View of Bodie, California from "Boot Hill". Activity at Bodie peaked after most other mining districts played-out. Bodie had its own bank, with a walk-in vault, a school, stores, churches and electric power generated at Green Creek on the Toiyabe N.F. to the west. The Bodie and Benton Rairoad hauled wood for buildings, mine timbers and fuel from the Inyo N.F. on the south. And gold and passengers to a stagecoach connection with the outsdie world.
