Collection of 26 photos taken by the donors during the Wedding of the Waters celebration in 1937. W. Newton Price was in charge of music for the celebration. 2023.0.150--Prospector and his burro. Info from Elodie Drew: Sam Ball front of Bank of America. Lady at left in pioneer dress with little girl is Elodie Drew and daughter, Mary Drew. 2023.0.151--Governor Merriam giving the gourd to the prospector. Info from Elodie Drew: Man in white chaps descendant of Doty (Death Valley party Jayhawkers). Josephine Breen in covered wagon. She was descendant from Donner party. 2023.0.152--Covered wagon. Girl was Josephine Breen, descendant of either the Donner or the Jayhawker parties. Young man in chaps is descendant of the other party. Info from Elodie Drew: First man at left is Ollie Dearborn of Lone Pine, who drove the stage in the celebration. Other men in line were Death Valley parties (Jayhawkers). One man, I think Henry Doty, was a small child in D.V. Dotys were the main people to attend the call of Father Crowley for descendants of the Death Valley and Donner parties.
