No. 2-16. This was known as "Hannah House," and was built circa 1860 on Mt. Kearsarge, near the mine. After a big snow slide most of the buildings at the mine were destroyed except "Hannah House." It was then moved to DWP property on Washington Street in Independence. There it was used for DWP housing. The building had a veranda on the north, front and south side. Later, the building shown in 2-15 was attached. After water and electricity was added the house became one of the nicer homes in Independence. Following the death of George Lewis and his wife the buildings were salvaged and moved to the museum site.
