A short typewritten poem on thin onionskin paper. It is titled, "Dry Ditches" by W. C. P. [Parcher]. Someone, possibly the author, has added "Owens River Valley, 1930" in black ink.
Dry Ditches
Dry ditches in a bleaching land,
A broken pane,
A swinging door,
And out upon the withered field,
Where once blue blossoms nodded in the sun,
A rusted plow, deep furrowed in the crusted sand.Collection
