Photo of a page (#5) from a letter or memoir written March 14, 1970 by Margret Smith Wilson. It says, "...dry country, and very hot in Saline Valley. The Sierra range on the west of Owens Valley is high, 14,000, and snowy. The White Mountains are up to 12,000 and with some snow, but very dry. Owens Valley gets 4 inches of rain a year, Saline Valley almost none, and Death Valley none. Owens Valley 3 to 4 thousand feet high, Saline 1,000 feet, and Death Valley minus 282 in lowest part."Collection
