Black and white photo of a crowd around the Highway Post Office parked in front of the Pines Cafe. Mounted Inyo County Sheriff's posse on left side of photo. This was taken during the inaugural trip of the Highway Post Office from Los Angeles to Bishop. Ceremonies were held at all stopping post offices. On this inaugural trip Obsorne A. Pearson, Assistant Postmaster General, was present for festivites.
