Photo of a group of five men with a herd of cattle around a narrow canal of water.
Written in pencil on reverse: Ira Roller place on desert.
Typewritten on reverse: About 1915 in August these men brought their cattle in from Salt Valley. They had been without water more than 24 hours as I remember. I made the furrow with the mules and walking plow and got the pump started before they got there. The man that needed the haircut seemed to relish the fresh water in his hands. This was the day I really saw thirsty cattle. Some had sore feet and they put rawhide shoes on them.Collection
