Description

Photo postcard labeled, "Threshing, Bishop, Cal." and likely taken by photographer A. A. Forbes and given his ID #825. From the back of the postcard: First Annual Harvest Festival Bishop, California Friday and Saturday, November 3-4, 1911 You know Bishop! It's the town that does things. It is the metropolis of Inyo county. It is the most hospitable place you were ever in. It lies in the Owens valley, the land of plenty. This year has been particularly fruitful, and therefore we are going to celebrate. And you ought to be here. We want you to be here. Why don't you come? The First Annual Harvest Festival will be held in Bishop on Friday and Saturday, November 3 and 4, two days of jollification and thanksgiving. The latch string is out. We promise you a time which will be so good you'll never forget. From the envelope: "Thrashing; Harvest Festival, Bishop (1911)"
