Collection of four photos taken at Mountain Springs Cow Camp in 1917. 1995.12.34.42a--Five people mounted on horseback. Written in blue ink on reverse is "Gerald on Shaw, Alice on Pol, Estella Callaway on Dot, Arthur Callaway on Buck, John Callaway on Jim. This picture was taken at Mountain Springs Cattle Camp. We moved the cattle from the desert to the summer range, 500 head." 1995.12.34.42b--Four people in front of a wooden cabin. Written in pencil on reverse is "Art, Grandpa Tapman, Estella, and J. D. [Callaway]." 1995.12.34.42c--Five people mounted on horseback beside a wooden cabin. They are labeled beneath the image as Gerald, Alice, Grandpa, Art, E. C. [Estella Callaway]. 1995.12.34.42d--Five people in front of a wooden cabin. Written in pencil on reverse is "Art, Grandpa Tap [Tapman?], Alice, J. D., Estella, Mountain Springs Cow Camp, 1917." Note on archival envelope says the caption of these photos in the original album was "One evening we were sitting around the stove and out came Mr. Pack Rat. Dad shot the rat dead on the spot!!" Additional information from archival envelope: Gerald and Alice were members of the Lindsey family. The Mountain Springs camp was located in the Argus Mountains.
