This book is the story of Harris Newmark, patriarch of one of the founding families of Los Angeles, California, which includes tracing his emigration from Germany in the early 1850's through his arrival in New York City, his journey west and finally, his years settling in southern California.
8 5/8" high x 6" wide x 1 1/8" deep; hardcover in green cloth with gold lettering of title located near bottom in large letters and series title at the very top in gold block letters. The Outline of Lake Tahoe is in center in gold. The spin has the title near the top and just below it is last name of author. At the bottom is publisher's name. The backs are without words or embellishment. No dust cover. Front end sheet has 4-ABA-213 written in pencil inside the image of Lake Tahoe. Right top written in blue ink is "Bolles"Collection
