Postcard titled, "Main Street, Independence, Cal." Photographer might be Mendenhall. The two-story Independence Hotel is visible on the right side, and in the center of the road is a flagpole. A sign for a garage is strung over the street at the far end. A sign for a restaurant is visible on the left side near another two-story building (Norman House/hotel?). The road is lined with early vehicles. Donor thought the time period was circa 1907-1910.
