2026x.03.14Description
Dark wood grandfather clock with a floral design clock face.Use
This tall case clock lacks the calendar feature and "strike/silent" dial seen on Capt. Potter's clock in the Potter Mansion, having only the hour and minute dial, and the seconds dial. It also has a painted wooden face, as opposed to Potter's extensively decorated brass face. This makes for a more widely affordable clock.Context
Made by Silas Hoadley, one of many clockmakers from the area of Waterbury, Connecticut, particularly during the late 18th and early 19th Centuries. Hoadley himself worked in the town of Plymouth, Connecticut.Collection
