Context

The Adrian committee was organized in 1954 and served as a committee under the direction of the Juniors to act as a transitional group between the Juniors and the regular members. In June 1958, it was reorganized and designated as a committee under the President of The Ebell to operate as a group of former Junior members and their friends. They served as the president's pages for Monday programs and participated regularly in all Ebell activities. According to the standing rules of June 1958, Adrian membership was limited to ten years and the following Ebell members were eligible: Junior transfers, former Juniors who shall become reinstated in Ebell, and members and new member in good standing who become associated with the committee before the age of forty. The age limit was changed to the approximate ages of 35 to 50 in October 1958. Their activities were documented in a monthly newsletter called the Adrian Memo. The Adriannes were a group of teenage daughters (grades 9th to 12th) of Ebell members and was formed on June 30, 1965 with 31 charter members. Under the direction of the Adrians, the group's purpose was "to broaden each girl's concept of culture, and second, to learn philanthropy at the teenage level." Their activities included organizing the mother daughter Christmas luncheon, membership tea, and assisting the Juniors for the Children's Christmas Party. Adriannes received points for their involvement, and an award was given to the girl who earned the highest number of points. Adriannes who earned 40 points during a two-year period were presented at the Christmas Ball during their senior year.
